LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

Torfaen Voluntary Alliance's learning and development activities are promoted across the whole of Torfaen. We are able to offer a variety of courses and try to answer the needs of the community. We support the development of voluntary organisations and offer courses pertinent to the development such as Principles of Governance, Committee  Skills, Minute Taking and Chairing Skills to name a few.

We support the RISE initiative and work in communities to generate courses of interest as diverse as Computer Skills, Assertiveness and Dance. In order to encourage learning we work in partnership with WEA, Coleg Gwent and Adult and Community Education (Torfaen Learning Partnership) as well as with other county voluntary councils particularly Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisation.

The Learning Action Centre (LAC), Church View in Blaenavon is a joint project between WEA and TVA, supported by the RISE Initiative, and is the only voluntary sector in LAC, in the 5 counties.

A calendar of courses is regularly printed to show what is being delivered in the near future. But we also answer needs of the community so please ring 01495 745156 for information.
