Torfaen Voluntary Alliance's learning and development activities are promoted across the whole of Torfaen. We are able to offer a variety of courses and try to answer the needs of the community. We support the development of voluntary organisations and offer courses pertinent to their development such as Principles of Governance, Committee Skills, Minute Taking and Chairing Skills to name a few.
In order to encourage learning we work in partnership with WEA, Coleg Gwent and Adult and Community Education (Torfaen Adult Learning Partnership -TALP) and this year there will be a joint leaflet, distributed throughout Torfaen in August, advertising all providers and their courses. We also work with other county voluntary councils particularly Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisation.
The Learning Action Centre (LAC), Church View, in Blaenavon was originally a joint project between WEA and TVA, and is now being enhanced by the involvement of Torfaen Borough Council, and promotes courses from all providers.
A calendar of courses is regularly produced to show what is being delivered by TVA in the near future and can be found under training opportunities on this site.
